Nikki earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Grace College. Nikki works with children, adolescents, and adults using client-centered therapy interventions adapted to the unique needs and goals of clients. Nikki prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and creating a safe space in therapy to share openly and process together. Nikki works from a strengths perspective and utilizes trauma-informed interventions as well as play therapy and sand tray therapy.
Prior to her work as a mental health clinician, Nikki spent 20 years working with adolescents and their families at TROY School in Columbia City. Nikki has experience working to navigate trauma, court systems, educational systems, and chronic stress and is equipped to help others as they navigate those systems. Nikki has completed training and certification as an Integrative Mental Health Practitioner focusing on the impact of sleep, stress management, and nutrition as a part of wellness and health and has taken additional training in Psychopharmacology and medication management as it relates to mental health treatment. She has additional training in ADHD and is able to do consultation regarding ADHD assessment with adults, children, and families.
Nikki is also a parent to four children ranging in ages through adulthood. Her experiences as a parent have helped to shape and mold her ability to support others on the parenting journey through every age and stage of development.
